Clash of Kings, second in the Ice and Fire series. I've read it three times and got it signed. The rest of the series rules as well.

I like how every other question has around ten responses and this book one gets about half that.

Probably Lolita, but I'm a big fan of Better Than Running At Night. Pretty Little Dirty was AMAZING.

But then Calvino is so so so good. Invisible Cities, maybe. Oh and Gregory Maguire writes well and there are some very good books on American Pop Culture.

What about books of poetry? Do they count? The "Pity the bathtub" collection by Matthea Harvey is so good and Charles Bernstein is a genius.

And what about White Oleander. That's in a league of its own.

I can't answer. I read too much.
